Accra, Ghana – The Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations has extended warm greetings to Muslims in Ghana and across the world as they mark Eid al-Fitr, the festival that signifies the end of Ramadan.

In a statement issued by the Office, the Presidential Envoy, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, commended the Muslim faithful for their dedication, discipline and spiritual devotion throughout the holy month of fasting, prayer, reflection and charity.

He noted that Eid is a significant occasion characterised by congregational prayers, the sharing of meals and acts of generosity towards the less privileged, adding that such values are essential in fostering unity and national development.

Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah further called on Ghanaians to embrace tolerance, mutual respect and understanding, stressing that the country’s strength lies in its religious diversity and longstanding culture of peaceful coexistence.

“The celebration of Eid presents an opportunity for people of different faiths to come together, share in the joy of the occasion and strengthen the bonds that unite us as one nation,” he said.

The Office also urged religious leaders, traditional authorities and community stakeholders to continue promoting peace, social cohesion and national unity, particularly at a time when many parts of the world face growing tensions.

It reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening interfaith relations and deepening ecumenical dialogue in the pursuit of a more inclusive and harmonious society.

The public has been encouraged to celebrate responsibly, extend goodwill to neighbours and support acts of kindness within their communities.
