Hearts of Oak have firmly dismissed reports suggesting that the club is planning to release 18 players during the current transfer window.

Despite speculation about a major squad overhaul, the Ghana Premier League giants have clarified their position through the club’s Public Relations Officer, Opare Addo, who moved quickly to quash these rumours.

In an interview with Peace FM, Addo explained that the coach submits a detailed end-of-season report that may recommend loan moves or transfers for certain players. However, he stressed that no decisions have been made about a mass exodus of players.

Hearts of Oak have already announced the addition of two new players, demonstrating a commitment to strategically enhancing the squad rather than implementing sweeping changes.

“What I know is that the coach presents a comprehensive report at the end of the season, which may include recommendations for loans or transfers. But as of now, no decision has been made about releasing a large number of players,” Addo said. “We will make any final decisions known to the public once everything is concluded.”

Addo emphasized the club’s commitment to transparency and assured fans that any player movements will be officially communicated.

He attributed the unfounded rumours to media tendencies to create speculation around big clubs during the transfer window.

“Let me reiterate that there is no plan to release 18 players. The coach’s decisions will be based on careful consideration, and we will share any updates with our fans,” Addo continued. “As is common with large clubs, the end of the season attracts media speculation, but this list circulating is not from the club. It’s purely speculative, and we urge everyone to disregard it.”

In conclusion, Addo reassured supporters that any decisions regarding player movements will be announced transparently and that the current rumours are not reflective of the club’s actual plans.
