Black Stars Forward Ibrahim Osman Makes Feyenoord Debut in Eredivisie Draw Against Groningen
Black Stars forward Ibrahim Osman made his Feyenoord debut in the Eredivisie clash against Groningen on Saturday, September 14, 2024. The Ghanaian international joined the Dutch champions on loan from English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
Although Osman’s debut was delayed due to paperwork issues, he made a strong impact after coming on as a substitute for Bart Nieuwkoop in the 60th minute. He displayed impressive skill and energy on the wings during his first appearance for Feyenoord.
Despite Feyenoord’s early dominance, a late double from Brynjolfur Willumsson Andersen saw Groningen come back from a two-goal deficit to secure a point at home. The visitors initially took the lead in the first half, thanks to an own goal by Thom Van Bergen, with Igor Paixao adding a second with just 19 minutes left on the clock.
Osman is expected to get more playing time at Feyenoord throughout the season before returning to Brighton next summer. He joined Brighton during the recent transfer window on a long-term deal from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland.
