Fueltrade Limited has donated GH¢1 million to the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to support educational development in Ghana.

The donation forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative and aligns with GETFund’s efforts to build stronger partnerships with private sector institutions. It also marks the first significant corporate collaboration secured by GETFund’s newly created fundraising department.

The cheque was presented on behalf of Fueltrade by the company’s Chief Human Resource Manager, Christabel Sewornu. She explained that the partnership provides Fueltrade with an opportunity to contribute to meaningful and sustainable improvements in the education sector.

According to her, the funds will particularly assist scholarship programmes and the development of educational infrastructure, which are essential in empowering young people and improving their learning opportunities.

In a communiqué signed by Fueltrade’s Deputy Director of Finance, Baffour Appiah Danquah, the company expressed its enthusiasm about working with GETFund through the initiative.

He emphasised that Fueltrade remains dedicated to supporting the communities where it operates and investing in programmes that foster long-term social and economic development.
Receiving the donation, the Administrator of GETFund, Paul Adjei, thanked Fueltrade for the generous support.

He described the contribution as a strong example of corporate commitment to education and national development.
Mr. Adjei noted that the donation supports GETFund’s goal of expanding access to quality education by improving infrastructure and learning conditions in schools across the country.

He also revealed that GETFund has partnered with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to ensure that contributions made to the Fund qualify for tax deductions under the Income Tax Act, 2015 (Act 896).

This arrangement, he explained, allows companies to meet their corporate social responsibility goals while supporting national educational priorities.

Mr. Adjei assured the public that the donation, along with other funds received, will be managed responsibly and transparently. He added that the Fund will provide regular updates and impact reports on how such contributions are utilised through its official communication channels.
