Fatawu Issahaku, a young player from Ghana, has expressed his happiness after finishing a season-long loan transfer to Leicester City in the English Championship.
After transferring from Sporting CP, the 19-year-old is anticipated to settle well and eventually break into the Portuguese club’s first squad towards the end of the season.
Numerous English teams have shown interest in the winger, notably Crystal Palace, who had an initial offer of €8 million rejected, according to Portuguese and English media.
The child who claimed it was the finest course of action for him was nonetheless apprehended by the Foxes.
“I’m overjoyed. For me, this is an incredible time, and I’m grateful to be here. This is the greatest situation for me, based on how I felt about the coach and how I perceived Leicester, Issahaku stated.

“I decided that now was the perfect time to join Leicester. They were my first choice since I believe they can advance my development. [Enzo Maresca] informed me of his goals for me and his expectations for my game, as well as how he intended to support me in my football.
Given his accomplishments with the youth national teams, the former Dreams FC star has been hailed by many as one of the intriguing young people who will rock the world in the near future.
When he assisted Ghana’s Under-20 team in winning the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in March 2021, he achieved success on the international stage and was named player of the event.
He was quickly called up to the Black Stars, where he has already made 14 appearances, including in the Africa Cup of Nations. He also made the final World Cup team for 2022.
Issahaku also contributed significantly to the Black Meteors squad that competed at the last U-23 AFCON in Morocco. He scored one goal each in the two-game series against Algeria in the final round of qualifications to give Ghana a 2-1 victory overall.
Despite his success with Steadfast FC and Dreams FC in Ghana, he has struggled to make a meaningful impact at Sporting CP and is aiming to develop momentum there.
