Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has appealed to the Investor community to continue their stay in Ghana.

He has assured them that things will get better under his leadership when he takes over in 2025.

John Dramani Mahama made these assurances while speaking at the 8th CEO Summit in Accra on Monday, May 27, 2024.

He noted that some big industry giants had left Ghana because the business environment was not conducive enough.

““GAME, Glovo, Nivea, BIC Pen, Dark and Lovely have all shut down. Unilever has relocated its tea production to Nigeria. Amid all this, our public debt has now hit a staggering 658.6 billion Ghana Cedis”.

This move he blames on the poor governance the country has suffered in the last seven years.

“But we cannot despair over the poor quality of governance that has served us in the last seven and a half years. I wish to use this opportunity to appeal to you, captains of industry and the investor community, to tarry a bit more. Please don’t leave our country.”

He, however, assured the investor community of better conditions when he takes over.

“You can rest assured that a new NDC administration will work with you to create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.”
