A player making £100,000 per week has been dropped from MAURICIO POCHETTINO’s 25-man Chelsea Premier League squad.

A player who was demoted from League One last season, nonetheless, made the team.

Malang Sarr of Chelsea was left off of their Premier League roster.

Jamie Cumming, a goalkeeper, has been selected.

The Blues and the other top-flight clubs were required to submit a list of their 25 eligible players for the first half of the season, along with a list of U21 stars.

Over 17 foreign players are not permitted per team; the remaining eight positions must be filled by native players.

fresh summer hires They are Nicolas Jackson, Moises Caicedo, Robert Sanchez, Djordje Petrovic, Axel Disasi, and Christopher Nkunku.

Due to being under the age of 21, Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia, Levi Colwill, Ian Maatsen, Malo Gusto, Noni Madueke, Lesley Ugochukwu, and Carney Chukwuemeka were all excluded.

According to Premier League regulations, players under the age of 21 are eligible in addition to the 25-player cap. Each player has a squad number that they represent while competing in Premier League games.

For the campaign of 2023–2024 Players under the age of 21 must have been born on or after January 1, 2002.

One player, meanwhile, who Pochettino clumsily appeared to forget was even at the club last month, did not make the cut.

I just wanted to inquire about two players who have vanished,” the reporter said to the Chelsea manager at the post-game news conference following the victory over Luton Town. Malang Sarr, who spent last season on loan.

Pochettino then enquired, “Who?”

“Malang Sarr, and what has happened to Jamie Cummings who played in the game against Wrexham [in the preseason]?” the reporter added.

Pochettino said, “Oh my goodness,” with a look of confusion on his face.

Malana Sarr and Jamie later? I’m not sure what I can say to you.

Former France U21 international Sarr, 24, joined Chelsea from Nice in 2020.

In his debut season with the Blues, he started just six Premier League games while spending the previous season on loan at Monaco.

He is currently lower on Chelsea’s list of center-back alternatives, though it is also said that he has struggled to draw attention from other teams.

Despite making £100,000 per week and having a contract through 2025, he may not play in the top division again until at least January after Poch passed him over.

Better news, though, came for Cummings, 24, who made the squad.

The goalkeeper graduated from the Blues youth, had time at Stevenage and Gillingham, and lost his job with MK Dons in League One last year.
