According to Nana Yaw Acheampong, a spokesperson for Berekum Chelsea, some individuals in Kurt Edwin Okraku’s administration at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) are planning his removal.

The GFA executives in question, according to Mr. Acheampong, who also serves as the bankroller and president of Berekum Chelsea and is also in charge of international relations, have had private meetings with Bernard Amofa Jantuah about running for FA president.

The spokesperson for Berekum Chelsea is Nana Yaw Acheampong.

Mr. Acheampong disclosed in an interview with Onua Sports that Mr. Jantuah is currently traveling abroad on business, despite calls for him to intervene and save Ghana Football from senior officials.

He claimed that the reason people want Mr. Jantuah to come and make things right is because the current administration is operating a friends and cronies administration and not an inclusive football team.

“These football people are confident in Mr. Jantuah looking at his competence and expertise coupled with knowledge in administration,” the speaker emphasized. “He will do a better job than Kurt Okraku who is doing politics with Ghana football.”

The football community was further reassured by Mr. Acheampong that Mr. Jantuah will arrive in the nation on Sunday, May 21, and hold a press conference to formally declare his intention to run in the upcoming GFA elections.
