Tottenham Hotspur have ended their interest in Julian Nagelsmann and will now pursue other targets for their vacant head coach job, 90min understands.

Spurs have been on the hunt for a permanent successor to Antonio Conte since parting ways with the Italian at the end of March. His assistant, Cristian Stellini, initially took caretaker charge before himself being replaced by Ryan Mason.

Nagelsmann, who has long had admirers in north London, was replaced at Bayern Munich by Thomas Tuchel two days prior to Conte’s sacking and was quickly linked with the Tottenham job.

But sources have told 90min they are no longer considering him for the gig despite having held initial talks with the German.

90min previously reported Nagelsmann had questions about the club’s structure after managing director of football Fabio Paratici resigned due to a global football ban.

Tottenham will now move on to other targets, including Feyenoord’s Arne Slot, though talks have been hampered by their involvement in the Eredivisie title race. Luis Enrique previously sat down with Spurs but negotiations have not progressed.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso, Fulham’s Marco Silva and Middlesbrough’s Michael Carrick all have admirers within the club, while out-of-work managers Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter are held in similar regard.
