Fatawu Abdul Hamidu stole the show for Medeama with a stunning free-kick in injury time, securing a vital 3-2 victory over Dreams FC in a nerve-racking match at Tarkwa.

The left-back’s sumptuous strike sent fans into spontaneous jubilation, as Medeama continues to chase its first Premier League title.

The Mauve and Yellows put on an explosive performance against Dawu-based Dreams FC, with striker Jonathan Sowah scoring a sublime bicycle kick in the 8th minute to open the floodgates for a five-goal thriller at the Akoon Community Park.

Although Dreams FC responded impressively with Ishmael Dede’s thunderbolt 20-yard drive, Medeama continued to shine in the second half, with Sowah scoring his second of the day with an easy tap-in.

But when Ali Huzaf silenced the crowd with the equalizer, Medeama knew they had to pull the chestnut out of the blazing fire. Fortunately, Hamidu’s superb free-kick just outside the box secured maximum points at home.

With the win, Medeama has jumped to second on the league table with 47 points, three behind leaders Aduana Stars, and remains in the Premier League title race. Meanwhile, Dreams FC sits just two points above the drop zone with 34 points from 28 games.
