Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has denied reports that he was summoned by members of the NPP Parliamentary Caucus over allegations made against him by GoldBod Chief Executive Officer Sammy Gyamfi.

The Effutu Member of Parliament said reports suggesting that he was called before his colleagues for questioning were inaccurate.

According to Mr Afenyo-Markin, the meeting with his colleagues was a normal caucus strategy session ahead of Parliament’s return and was not related to any investigation or probe.

The clarification follows public discussions after Sammy Gyamfi accused the Minority Leader of making claims concerning GoldBod that he described as false.

Mr Afenyo-Markin has maintained that the Minority’s concerns over GoldBod and reported losses are issues of national interest and should be addressed through proper parliamentary processes.

He has also called for transparency, including a possible live broadcast of parliamentary proceedings on the matter.
