The Central Regional office of the Ghana Cocoa Board has been elevated from a managerial level to a directorship status in a move aimed at strengthening cocoa production activities in the region.
The elevation is expected to improve coordination, supervision and decision-making within the cocoa sector in the Central Region.
Officials say the move will provide stronger leadership and enhance efforts to increase cocoa production while supporting farmers.
The development forms part of broader measures to improve the efficiency of COCOBOD operations and ensure better service delivery to cocoa-growing communities.
Stakeholders believe the new status of the regional office will help address challenges facing farmers and contribute to the growth of Ghana’s cocoa industry.
