The National Apprenticeship Programme, in collaboration with the Ga North Municipal Assembly, has presented tools and equipment to apprentices and master craftspersons within the municipality as part of efforts to strengthen vocational skills and promote youth employment.

The presentation ceremony, held at the premises of the Ga North Municipal Assembly, brought together local authorities, beneficiaries, and stakeholders in the skills development sector.

The initiative aims to equip apprentices with the necessary resources to enhance their training and improve productivity in their respective trades.

Speaking to HB news reporter prosper Ewusi, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga North, Akwety Agbo, emphasized that the programme is specifically designed to support and empower the youth in the municipality.

He noted that many young people possess talent and potential but lack the necessary tools and opportunities to fully develop their skills.

Hon. Agbo explained that the intervention seeks to bridge that gap by providing practical support to enable apprentices to become economically independent.

He urged beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment and remain committed to their training to build sustainable livelihoods.

Also addressing the gathering, the Municipal Director of the National Youth Authority for Ga North, Eric Afeme, advised the youth to take their apprenticeship seriously and remain disciplined throughout their training.

He encouraged them to be dedicated, punctual, and open to learning, stressing that success in any trade requires commitment and continuous improvement.

Mr. Afeme further urged the beneficiaries to avoid negative influences and focus on building skills that would make them self-reliant and valuable contributors to society.
