MANKRANSO — The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, toured Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centers across the district on Monday, May 4, to motivate candidates as they commenced their final examinations.

The tour, which covered several key examination centers, aimed to inspire students to remain confident, focused, and disciplined throughout the week-long exercise.

Addressing the candidates, Hon. Sedik urged them to trust in their years of preparation and approach every paper with determination. He further reaffirmed his commitment to fostering academic excellence by pledging full scholarships to any candidate who secures a Grade Six aggregate.

The DCE expressed high optimism that this year’s results would reflect a significant improvement in the district’s academic performance.

A total of 1,463 candidates are currently sitting for the exams across five centers in the district. To ensure a conducive environment for both students and staff, Hon. Sedik donated 20 cartons of bottled water and 10 cartons of assorted drinks.
Additionally, the DCE presented a total of GH¢10,000 to support the welfare of invigilators and supervisors, with GH¢2,000 allocated to each of the five centers to cover meal costs.

The District Education Director, Mr. Justin Kwesi Gbotor, confirmed that the examination began on a high note with no recorded cases of malpractice. He noted that both candidates and officials reported to their respective centers promptly, ensuring a disciplined start. Mr. Gbotor advised students to rely solely on their hard work and avoid any actions that could jeopardize their results.

Rev. Michael Anane praised the level of cooperation and discipline displayed. He indicated that all necessary examination materials were available and distributed on time.

The DCE was accompanied on the tour by the Presiding Member, Hon. Paul Kwesi Amegboe, and the District Information Officer, Emmanuel Smart Amo.
