A fire has partially gutted a two-storey building at Ashaley Botwe in the Adentan Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. The property, reportedly owned by Prophet Daniel Obinim, also known as Angel Obinim, was severely damaged after flames spread from the upper section of the building.
The fire broke out in the mid-morning hours of Thursday, April 9, 2026. Fire tenders from Adenta Fire Station, Madina Fire Station, and the University of Ghana Fire Station were immediately dispatched to the scene. Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service worked swiftly to contain the blaze, prevent further damage, and safeguard both residents and neighboring structures.
ADOI Isaac Kwadwo Opoku, who was at the scene, confirmed that efforts to fully control the fire were ongoing. He added that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations will be conducted once the fire has been fully extinguished.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, though officials have indicated that a thorough assessment will be carried out to evaluate the extent of the damage to the building.
