NKWASCO student hospitalised after alleged cutlass attack by Church security guard

A 19-year-old final-year student of Nkwatia Senior High School (NKWASCO), identified as Opoku, is receiving treatment at Koforidua Regional Hospital after being allegedly attacked with a cutlass by a security guard at the Arena of Love Church in Nkawkaw, Eastern Region.

 

The incident reportedly occurred on the church premises under circumstances still under investigation.

 

Opoku sustained serious cutlass wounds and was initially treated at Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw before being referred to Koforidua Regional Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

 

Police in Nkawkaw have arrested the suspect, Yaw Donkor, who is assisting authorities with investigations into the attack.

 

Speaking on the ordeal, the victim’s mother expressed her anguish and called on the police to ensure justice is served, urging authorities to act swiftly to prevent similar incidents in the community.
