Ghana Sets Ambition to Become Africa’s Leading Production and Export Hub – Mahama in South Korea
In a significant move towards economic growth, President John Dramani Mahama has outlined Ghana’s plan to establish itself as a central production and export hub for the African continent. During a bilateral discussion with the President of South Korea, Mahama emphasized the country’s vast natural and human resources as pivotal factors for driving intra-African trade and promoting industrial development.
“We aim to make Ghana a key hub for production and exports to the rest Continentals Africa,” said President Mahama, highlighting the strategic role the country envisions playing within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
He further stressed the potential for a mutually beneficial partnership between Ghana’s rich resources and South Korea’s advanced technological expertise. This collaboration, according to Mahama, could significantly enhance trade, industrialization, and overall economic growth across Africa.
The President also underlined the importance of collective efforts to increase the value of Ghana’s exports, bolster food security, and expand the nation’s presence in both regional and global markets, ensuring long-term sustainability and prosperity.
