A Couple have been arrested at Awutu Bontrase near Awutu Beraku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region after they are said to have allegedly beheaded their three days old baby boy and dumped the body at a refuse dump point.
According to reports gathered, the baby was found dead with the head, and the left hand chopped off.
The body was spotted on the refuse dump, and a search which was conducted by the area guys perceived that a 24 years old Abena Benewaa gave birth at home and the traditional birth attendant told her the baby is dead, a preparation was underway to go and burry the body when the father of the baby *Bright Ashiaw 26 year old* came to pick up the baby that he is going to burry it himself.
During further interrogation, the husband went to burry the baby at the same location where the body was later found.
Eyewitness speaking in an interview with Bryt Fm News correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah says both of them have been arrested.
Some community members have alleged that the couples may have planned to use their child for money rituals, although police are yet to confirm these claims.
Assemblyman for Bontrase Electoral Area, Hon. Prince Larbie has confirmed the sad incident and also expressed concern that some youth in the community are increasingly engaging in money rituals and other criminal activities.
Furthermore, Awutu Beraku District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Edmond Nyamekye has said the suspects are currently in the police custody and will appear before court in no time.
