CAF sets new dates for TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup 2026

The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, originally set to take place in Morocco from March 17 to April 3, has been postponed. CAF, together with FIFA and other partners, cited unforeseen circumstances for the delay and decided to reschedule the tournament to July 25–August 16, 2026.

The revised dates place the competition shortly after the conclusion of the 2026 men’s World Cup, ensuring that African women’s football maintains a prominent spot on the international calendar. Organizers hope the new timing will allow for better planning and a successful tournament.

Despite the confirmation of the new schedule, uncertainty remains over the host nation. Morocco, initially awarded hosting rights, may step aside, prompting speculation about a possible change in venue as the tournament draws nearer.
