Dormaa Twins Association enstool Chief and Queen Mother to facilitate progress of Twins


The Dormaa Twins Association is a group comprised of twins residing within the Dormaa Enclave in the Bono Region, dedicated to fostering development and providing life support among twins.

The leadership of the Association has officially launched the organization, accompanied by the enstoolment of their Chief and Queen Mother to facilitate the association’s advancement and progress of its members.

During the program, Barima Buabasa Oppong Yaw Ababio, Gyasehene of the Dormaa Traditional Council, advised the newly enstooled Chief and Queen Mother to uphold the responsibilities entrusted to them in their roles with the Twins Association. He emphasized that twins are unique individuals who are accorded special treatment and that, as twins in Dormaa Ahenkro, they are subject to certain customs and cultural practices. He urged members of the Twins Association to respect their leaders both traditionally and morally, ensuring they provide the necessary support for the successful management of the association. He further advised the newly enstooled Chief and Queen Mother to refrain from their previous lifestyles and to conduct themselves as traditional leaders, thereby securing the recognition and support of the Nananom of the Dormaa Traditional Council for the association’s prosperity.

 

Mr. Enock Asumadu, also known as Skindu, who serves as the Chairman of the Dormaa Twins Association, articulated the purpose behind the formation of the association. He emphasized their objective of including all twins within the Dormaa enclave and providing them with financial and humanitarian assistance to enable them to succeed in life.

He further revealed that since inception of the association, they have supported 25 twins by enrolling them in apprenticeship programs to acquire practical skills that will help sustain themselves and their families in the future. He highlighted that the association’s support is intended to extend beyond twins to encompass all residents of Dormaa, thereby facilitating overall development.

 

Finally, the Sanaahene of the Dormaa Traditional Council, Baafour Surveyor Engineer Kwadwo Damoah Afari, urged the Chief and the Queen of the Twins Association to diligently pursue the objectives for which the association was established. He emphasized the importance of gaining recognition from the Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Council, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, in order to elevate their position to a more esteemed status. Baafour Surveyor Engineer Kwadwo Damoah Afari encouraged them to demonstrate leadership qualities that would enhance their roles within the Dormaa Traditional framework.
