Wa High Court Convicts Elisha Mahama for the Murder of CEO of Royal Cosy Hills Hotel

The Wa High Court, presided over by Justice Abdul Yussif Assibey, has sentenced Elisha Mahama to life imprisonment for the murder of Eric Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Royal Cosy Hills Hotel, also known as Jirapa Dubai.
Eric Johnson, aged 60, was killed by assailants on Sunday, 11 February, before 1:30 a.m., and his vehicle was stolen and driven away from his residence by the perpetrators.
Today, the Wa High Court sentenced 32-year-old Elisha Mahama, who was the Resource Manager at the hotel and was dismissed three days before the murder of the CEO. Seven jurors at the Wa High Court unanimously agreed that the first accused, Elisha Mahama, murdered his former employer.
Meanwhile, two other accused, aged 23 and 56, Belinda Milla and Kweku Kumbata respectively, were acquitted by the jurors and subsequently discharged by the Wa High Court judge.
After the jury’s verdict, Elisha Mahama stated that he still maintains his innocence and denies killing his former boss.
Clement Eledi, counsel for Elisha Mahama, in an interview said, “I said We will go on appeal; no further comments.”
Leading the prosecution was the Principal State Attorney, Saeed Abdul Shakuur, who expressed satisfaction with the fair trial of the case, which commenced last year.
The counsel for Belinda Milla and Kweku Kumbata, Luanga Bagonluri, expressed gratitude to the jurors for their unbiased verdict.
