Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Director of Communication for the Bawumia Campaign Team, has addressed rumors surrounding the payments made to journalists who attended the “Bawumia Hosts The Media” event on August 25, 2024. He clarified that the highest amount paid to any journalist ranged between GH¢2,000 and GH¢5,000, dismissing claims that figures as high as GH¢10,000 or GH¢20,000 were disbursed.
Aboagye explained that the payments were intended to cover expenses such as transportation and accommodation, particularly for journalists traveling from distant locations like Kumasi or Tamale. He also mentioned that some of the recipients were bloggers, highlighting that compensation varied based on individual circumstances.
As a chartered marketer and politician, Aboagye emphasized his commitment to transparency and effective communication, aiming to dispel misinformation and clarify the reasons behind these payments.
