A former Pro Vice Chancellor of the University for Development Studies(UDS), Professor David Millar has openly admitted that he voted for then Candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2016 General Elections.

He was however quick to explain that it was with the conviction that the current President will be a one-term President in order to change things for the country.

According to him, he was left disappointed when the President in the four-year term started campaigning for another term when his tenure was expected to end in 2020.

“When Nana Addo was coming in. Those of us who voted for him thought that he had the charisma to be able to do that. I voted for Akufo-Addo in 2016 and expected him to be a one-term president. Then he can do what he wants to do. It’s like J. J. When I was a student, I was a supporter of J. J. but when he relaxed into the democratic process, he lost it all,” he stated in an interview with Bolgatanga-based Dreamz FM

“So when Nana started making intentions towards going 8 years, I knew he had lost it. 4 years was enough for him to put in place a system that might run longer after he’s gone”. He observed.
