Former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi is of the view that he stands tall among all the candidates contesting for the Ejisu seat.

He describes the late Member of Parliament for Ejisu, John Kumah as Messi who was exceptional during his time of play.

Kwesi Nyantakyi believes that if Messi is substituted, he who sees himself as Christiano Ronaldo should be allowed to lead the people of Ejisu.

“If Leonel Messi plays a match and gets injured will you go and take anybody to go and replace him? You need Christiano Ronaldo or Mbappe or Halland you understand? I am the Ronaldo that I think should be brought to replace him,” he said.

The Ejisu seat became vacant after the Member of Parliament passed away on March 7, 2024, in Suhum in the Eastern Region.

John Kumah is said to have suffered a terminal illness.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has slated April 13 as the date for their Primaries to elect a candidate who will contest for the seat.

The party is optimistic that the people of Ejisu will help them retain the seat and send a signal to the opposition National Democratic Congress that they are prepared for a battle in the 2024 elections.
