For acknowledging to going on a summer binge before signing with Real Madrid, Eden Hazard has come under fire.

Before receiving a £115 million transfer to the Spanish capital in 2019, the former Chelsea player lit up the Premier League for seven years.

Eden Hazard disclosed that prior to joining Real Madrid, he went on a summertime binge.

Christophe Dugarry, a former star of France, has criticized Hazard for his remarks.

Before making his significant move to Real Madrid, Hazard thought he needed a rest after scoring 21 goals and dishing out 17 assists in his final season at Stamford Bridge.

addressing L’Equipe. “I’d just finished one of the best seasons of my career with Chelsea,” he acknowledged.

“I told myself that this might be my last chance to take a holiday whilst I’m at Real Madrid. I let go of myself in the same way that I do every summer.

“I’ve spent seven years in England, giving everything at Christmas without taking a break, so please don’t worry me during my three or four weeks of vacation with barbecues, rose wine, and other such things.

That’s what gave me the ability to restart and reset myself. Then something went wrong at Real, and that’s it.”

After his binge, Hazard was eleven pounds overweight when he arrived to the Bernabeu and was never able to reach the heights he reached in England.

Additionally, Christophe Dugarry, a former Frenchman who won the World Cup, has criticized the Belgian for how he handled his big move to Madrid.

“It’s very easy to say this now but it should have been said before,” he added in an interview with RMC Sport.

“You should inform the president that you will be leaving that evening when you sign your multimillion-dollar deal.

Did he tell his teammates and boss that he disliked running during practice and that he was getting wasted? Football is a team sport played by professionals. You have duties to fulfill.

“You can’t respect everything to the letter, but it’s a shame to promote this nonsense,” he continued.

“Hazard was an excellent player, but I feel bad for the fans who paid to watch him play.

“He is mocking the football world in his interview. You have to express it beforehand if you want to behave like a brave guy.

“Why didn’t he inform [Zinedine] Zidane of this prior to signing a £100 million contract with Real Madrid?”

After only 76 games and seven goals in his four years with Real Madrid, Hazard ultimately left the team last year when his contract expired.

The 33-year-old, who was without a team until October, has since announced his retirement from football.

Hazard faced a lot of criticism for being overweight and “lazy” during his time in the Spanish city.

However, the former international player for Belgium clarified in an interview that he wasn’t living as unhealthy a lifestyle as others had suggested.

“I wasn’t watching what I ate, but I also didn’t go for a burger every day,” the man clarified. You have sixteen years to do that. It didn’t seem significant to me.

“I enjoy eating and drinking with my buddies since I’m a hedonist. Dieting is a waste of time and energy.

“Okay, if that’s what you want to do, then great, but I knew I wouldn’t be like that.” I keep champagne in my refrigerator at all times.”

Hazard has prioritized his life off the field since retiring, which has included getting back together with the ball-boy he once kicked in 2013.

When Hazard was a Chelsea player, he was extraordinary.

His form at Real Madrid was not replicated.
