Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation and Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, is encouraging Ghanaians to strongly support the re-election of seasoned Members of Parliament (MPs) during the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries and general elections. Ursula emphasizes that the resignation of a significant number of experienced MPs from both political parties could pose substantial challenges for the next parliamentary administration.

Highlighting the crucial role played by experienced MPs, Ursula emphasizes the need for knowledge transfer from veterans to new legislators. She stresses that this transfer is vital for the effective functioning of the legislative body and the development of new parliamentarians.

Ursula draws on her personal experience and cites OB Amoah as an example of how seasoned MPs contribute to the growth of their colleagues. She underscores the importance of prioritizing the education of new MPs to ensure their effective participation in legislative processes.

In an interview on Accra-based UTV, the Ablekuma West MP urges delegates to consider retaining experienced MPs, expressing concern that the next parliament might face challenges due to the departure of many experienced legislators. Currently, 18 NPP MPs have decided not to seek re-election.
