Breman Eduosia, Central Region, Ghana – In a heartfelt plea, residents of Breman Eduosia, a vibrant farming community known for its significant cocoa production, have called upon President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to urgently address the dire state of their road infrastructure. The road, which connects Breman Brakwa to Breman Eduosia via Afofosu, has deteriorated to the point where it’s now being dubbed a “Dead Trap Road.”
The residents expressed deep concerns over the road’s poor condition, which has led to a host of challenges including difficulties in transportation of agricultural produce and essential services. With farming being the primary livelihood in the area, this road plays a pivotal role in enabling the transportation of crops and goods. However, due to its current state, valuable produce is left to perish, impacting the community’s economic stability.
One prevailing sentiment among the residents is that their concerns have fallen on deaf ears due to the area’s representation by an opposition Member of Parliament. They claim that their appeals for assistance have been disregarded by their representative, exacerbating their frustration.
Residents stressed that if their pleas go unanswered and the road remains untouched before the 2024 General Election, there will be severe consequences for politicians seeking their support. They vowed that no politician, regardless of affiliation, would find a receptive audience in their community for campaign efforts. Furthermore, they issued a firm declaration that they would abstain from participating in the election if their road predicament is not addressed, rendering any ballot box irrelevant.
The deteriorating state of the road poses a significant threat to the community’s prosperity and daily life. It remains to be seen whether the government will heed their impassioned call and undertake the necessary measures to rectify the situation.
