Trotro Driver Crashes Into Former President Akufo-Addo’s Residence Wall
A commercial minibus driver, popularly known as a trotro driver, crashed into the fence wall of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s residence in Nima on the evening of Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. The exact cause remains unclear, but eyewitnesses suspect the green trotro may have suffered a brake failure, causing the driver to lose control and veer off the road into the wall.
According to reports, three people sustained injuries in the incident and were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
“One of the victims was the mate. He was coughing up blood,” an eyewitness recounted.
The residence, located near the Nima Police Station, sits along a major traffic route frequently used by vehicles traveling from Nima to Accra, Osu, and Nkrumah Circle.
The incident has raised security concerns, as there are currently no metal barricades separating the fence wall from the busy street leaving the property vulnerable to such accidents.
