Small-Scale Miners Appeal To Support And Equipment From Government

At a joyous moment when the miners of Abroso Company Limited eccentric about the development of the company concessions in Western Region.

 

Speaking at the gathering the general secretary of Ghana National Association of Small-Scale Miners Mr Nuhu Mohammed Mustapha has appeal to government and relevant stakeholders to support and equip Small-Scale mining operators.

 

He recall that by so doing will help create more employment for the youth and also contribute to the GDP growth.

 

Mr Mustapha caution the recent attacks and arrest and prosecution of it members all in the name of fighting against galamsey.

 

The fight against galamsey is a call for but not the other way round to take peoples livelihoods from them.

 

According to him, the MIIF and the GoldBod which are supposed to the indigenes who are into Small-Scale mining are rather helping government to provide logistics to NAIMOS Taskforce which is very bad in some ways.

 

He emphasis that he is not against the support given to NAIMOS but rather first thing first before other things are needed.

 

Ghana is blessed with a lot of resources but yet the country still demands on foreign donors which if the government takes local mining seriously it help reduce bedding on us.

 

The responsible mining practices are achieved when the miners get the needed support from government.
