Former Ghana defender Samuel Osei Kuffour has endorsed the decision to reappoint Otto Addo as the head coach of the Black Stars. Otto Addo, who led Ghana to qualify for the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup as an interim coach, has now been reinstated by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on a full-time basis.

“Bringing him back was a good choice,” stated the former Bayern Munich defender in an interview with Angel FM. “Forget about whatever happened at the World Cup and focus on what we are doing now, especially in the World Cup qualifiers.”

Under Otto Addo’s guidance, Ghana won one match, lost two, and exited at the group stage of the World Cup last year. However, recent victories under his leadership—including a 2-1 win over Mali and a thrilling 4-3 victory against the Central African Republic—have significantly boosted Ghana’s prospects of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The reappointment of Otto Addo signals a fresh beginning for the Black Stars as they strive to capitalize on recent successes and secure their place in the upcoming World Cup.
