The Member of Parliament for Salaga South Constituency, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has reaffirmed her commitment to improving education in the constituency, highlighting ongoing efforts to renovate dilapidated school infrastructure.
Speaking to the media, the MP stated that the rehabilitation of unsafe and deteriorating school buildings remains a personal priority. She stressed that no child should be made to learn in an environment that is not safe or conducive, adding that immediate steps are being taken to restore such facilities to ensure comfort and security for students.
Hajia Zuwera further revealed that plans are underway to expand technical and vocational education through the introduction of a TVET project in the area. She also announced that preparations are far advanced for the construction of a Teacher Training College to serve the entire Eastern Corridor.
According to her, funding has already been secured for the project, while land has been generously provided by the Kpembewura. The proposed college will be located along the Masekpe–Salaga road and is expected to provide accessible training opportunities for aspiring teachers within the region.
The MP noted that the initiative is partly inspired by her late father’s strong belief in quality education. She expressed her determination to leave a lasting legacy by improving access to teacher education, thereby reducing the need for residents to travel long distances in pursuit of such opportunities.
She emphasized that the project will not only benefit the people of Salaga South but also serve the broader Eastern Corridor, contributing significantly to educational development in the area.
