Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has declared that Ghana’s primary objective is to secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as the team continues its strong run in the qualifiers.
Speaking to the media, the Hearts of Oak shot-stopper emphasized the team’s collective determination and readiness ahead of their upcoming matches in September.
“Qualifying for the World Cup is the most important thing to us, so I’m prepared for the qualifiers in September,” Asare said.
He also made a heartfelt appeal to fans, urging national support as the team pushes toward its goal.
“I’m appealing to Ghanaians to support us to qualify,” he added.
Ghana currently leads Group I with 15 points after six matches, positioning themselves as strong contenders for a spot at the 2026 tournament.
The Black Stars are set to resume their qualifying campaign with Matchday 7 and 8 fixtures in September:

Thursday, September 4: Chad vs. Ghana – Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno

The team will wrap up the qualifiers in October with crucial encounters against Comoros and the Central African Republic.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted jointly by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and Ghana is aiming for its fifth appearance at the global showpiece.
