For his furious response to Chelsea’s 4–4 draw with Manchester City, MAURICIO POCHETTINO has expressed regret to Pep Guardiola and the match referees.

Poch claimed he “deserved to be booked” for failing to shake City manager Guardiola’s hand and going on an X-rated tirade just as his Blues team was about to triumph.

After the suspenseful Stamford Bridge match, Mauricio Pochettino, who was animated the entire time, thinks he needs to apologize for his actions.

Pochettino said that at the final whistle, he “didn’t see” Pep Guardiola.

The Chelsea manager acknowledged that his actions presented “not a good image” for the sport and for him personally.

Guardiola stated that he was “completely fine” despite having previously encountered similar responses from Pochettino in the dugout.

Poch was ecstatic at the end, wanting to see Chelsea steal the win even if Cole Palmer’s stoppage-time penalty had given them a point.

Raheem Sterling was positioned nicely for an attack as Marc Cucurella was charging forward, but referee Anthony Taylor signaled full time.

In response, Pochettino erupted at the fourth official, but his attempt to reach the middle was thwarted by his bench.

He waved his arms and seemed to shout, “What the f***?”

The Argentinean admitted, when questioned later: “I have to apologize to Anthony Taylor and the officials.

“Raheem Sterling can score the fifth right now, in my opinion. As soon as the game is over, I turn to Anthony and ask, “What the heck is going on?” Why halt the action right now?

“I turned around and admitted that, yes, I had gone over the limit, saying, ‘I deserve to be booked.'” I would like to apologize since this kind of behavior does not reflect well on me or on football.”

He proceeded, saying, “I want to apologise to him as well, for disregarding Guardiola. I did not see him in this moment. All I could think about was the action. Therefore, I also want to apologize to Pep.”

However, the Spaniard remarked, “It is not a concern. That’s okay, I don’t want to talk about it. I experienced the same sentiments as everyone else occasionally.

“To be honest, it’s fine. I don’t want you to think I’m being misinterpreted; with Pochettino, it happened once, but that’s okay. Absolutely, utterly OK.”
