Member of Parliament for Bole Bamboi, Yusif Sulemana has told the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission to perform her duty diligently and she will not need protection from over 20 Military personnel.

To him, the EC chairperson’s security detail smacks of fear on her part because she may not be doing the right things.

He made this known when the EC chair was in Parliament to brief the house on Ghana’s preparedness for the 2024 election.

“Today I saw her with over 20 Military personnel accompanying her. If you do your job well, you will walk freely without any protection.

Even the President does not roam with over 20 Military personnel.

We want her to be able to move freely in this country and the only way you can do that is when you’re fair, free in terms of ensuring that the processes are right, declare the winner and we are all happy with you” he said.
