Hon. Obeng Francis, the Deputy NDC Organizer for the Tain Constituency in the Bono Region, has urged President Mahama and the NDC government to take immediate steps to establish a fast-track court specifically designed to address and prosecute officials from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) implicated in corruption cases by the ORAL and other anti-corruption agencies as promised during 2024 campaign season.

He expressed concern that, despite the NDC government’s promise to address corrupt and corruption related cases among NPP officials after winning the elections, there has been a lack of urgency in arresting and prosecuting those implicated by the ORAL team and other anti-corruption bodies Which has raised a lot of questions among party members. He emphasized that this delay has eroded the trust members of the NDC party have in their leaders, highlighting that accountability and transparency in governance are essential for development and for restoring public confidence in the political system hence the need for the fast-track court to prosecute corrupt officials for Justice to Prevail

Hon. Obeng Francis further stated that the NDC government, in its one and a half years of governance, has made significant strides in employment creation through the Adwumawura policy, the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) recruitment into security and other services, as well as the Nkoko Nketenkete initiative. These efforts have contributed to a reduction in the country’s unemployment rate. He emphasized that the NDC, as a social democratic party, is committed to ensuring that its policies benefit all individuals, thereby promoting economic and societal development.
