In the town of Pusupu, located in the Nkwanta South of the Oti region of Ghana, a tragic incident occurred. 39-year-old Selorm Ayi stabbed his brother-in-law, Kofi Donkor, to death. The victim and the perpetrator were reportedly sleeping in the same room when Ayi committed the crime.

In addition to stabbing him, Ayi also struck Kofi Donkor’s head with a pestle, which resulted in his death.

According to reports, the suspect had been battling mental illness for some time. The deceased tried to send him to a fetish priest for treatment, but Ayi allegedly refused. Residents of the town revealed this information to the press after the incident.

After the crime, the suspect immediately rushed to the Breweniase Police Station to report himself. The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the St. Joseph Hospital morgue in Nkwanta. The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting with investigations.

The incident has caused sadness and concern among the residents of Pusupu. Mental illness is still stigmatized in many African communities, and many people who suffer from it do not receive adequate treatment.

This case highlights the need for increased mental health awareness and resources in Ghana and other African countries.
