1. Enock Nyarko
The grassroots are rallying for Enock Nyarko. His name was all over the lips of the masses even before the filing of nominations. He started supporting the district as a philanthropist, providing some social and economic relief to others. Reshaping of some deplorable roads which he used to draw the attention of the masses before his contest. This is his first time in the contest, coming up as a philanthropist, and now a PC hopeful, he has built a great winning chance for himself because of how he started with people thinking he was the only one who could rescue the district from the mess due to his contribution to the district even as a philanthropist. He has a 70% winning chance.
2. Linda Nyarko Yeboah
The only female PC hopeful in the history of the Jaman North district. She also started as a philanthropist, annual provision of food and assorted drinks to the Muslims in the district during the climax of their Ramadan fasting. She contracted MTN Ghana to register SIM cards for people at the peak of the Ghana card and SIM card synchronization exercise. She has offered a lot of support for the students in the district with the provision of Sanitary pads to the Female students in the district. Her name hasn’t gone down to the masses as a political figure. She is seen as an underdog and maybe she can only pull a surprise and may be considered with some percentage of votes due to her gender.
3. Hon. Solomon Owusu
He is the first-ever Sitting DCE to contest in the parliamentary candidature. He has received a lot of backlash from both NPP and NDC for his attempt to contest in the race, people within the district have described him as a failure, failing to use his high office (DCE) to create conveniences in the hectic areas of the district. He hasn’t taken things easy at all after his declaration for the contest because the masses are calling for his resignation from the DCE position as a result of what they describe as poor execution of his duties. Maybe he can only use his office to entice people to vote for him, other than that, he may lose race.
4. Hon. Siaka Stevens
Being the former MP and deputy Bono regional minister, he was booted out as a result of what many described as unsatisfactory performance in his mandate. According to him, the masses are yelling for his comeback since the alternative has been scary for the district. He has boasted himself as a tried and tested candidate who has won the hearts of the people as a result of his hard work that has bestowed him an opportunity to be part of the decision-making bodies of the party. He has also pulled some multitudes in the district likewise Enock Nyarko who are also rallying behind his comeback. The battle now lies between him and Enock Nyarko pertaining to the information on the grounds. He can cause surprise but it may be difficult for him to win the primaries. People won’t be surprised if he wins.
5. Mr. Eric Yeboah
From Asiri, a suburb of Jaman North District. He has contested twice in the contest. He was asked to pull out plus some other contestants to allow Siaka Stevens to go unopposed in the 2020 elections which resulted in defeat for the NPP within the district. This is his second time in the contest but his name has been silent a bit as compared to the fresher (Enock Nyarko). His winning chances are so limited looking at the current trend of the party. The onus lies on the delegates but he can only pull some 15% of the votes.
6. Hon. Yaya Trawule
He is currently an assembly member for Shiekomulo Electoral Area, An electoral area in the Jaman North district capital, Sampa. He has been a key member of the New Patriotic party with whom a lot of people thought would be awarded the DCE position but went wayward. His contest has not received any warm welcome from some of the party grassroots and delegates and it will be difficult for him to win the contest in this current political dispensation that deals mostly with monetization. Yes, he is trying to be recognized but he is not a threat in the contest.
