Franklin Fifi Kwetey, the general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stated that the party’s victorious primaries are the first stage in their plan to unseat the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which is now in power.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, May 14, 2023, immediately following the announcement of the results, Mr. Kwetey gave the nation’s citizens and supporters of the umbrella fraternity the assurance that the NDC will save Ghana from the subpar governance of the Akufo-Addo led administration.

He claims that the trust placed in the party’s leadership and the former president as its flagbearer won’t be in vain because they’ll do everything in their power to protect Ghana from the poor leadership the NPP has provided Ghanaians.

For us, this marks the start of the road to 2024, and we want to reassure all of our supporters throughout our nation, as well as the larger population of Ghana, that we will undoubtedly make sure that this is just the beginning of a long journey to ensure that we can save this nation by December 7, 2024.

“We are going to do everything possible to ensure that the confidence that is reposed not just in the leadership of the party but through this election, the confidence that has been reposed in His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, that confidence is not to go down at all,” he said.
