Information Minister Honourable Fatimatu Abubakar has criticized the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), claiming the party lacks foresight. In an interview on Accra-based UTV, she asserted that for Ghana to achieve progress and development, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the best choice for leadership.
“The NDC lacks foresight. A political party that has a women’s organizer who believes that drones used for delivery will invade women’s privacy is not one that has foresight,” Abubakar remarked. She emphasized the importance of having a leader who understands the current global direction and possesses the knowledge and exposure to navigate it effectively.
“There is a saying that ‘cometh the hour, cometh the man.’ Given where the world is headed and the exposure Ghana has, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia stands out among all the candidates. He is the most knowledgeable and understands our future direction. Nowadays, it’s the tech professionals, not just doctors, who command significant salaries. In Silicon Valley, one can truly appreciate the impact of technology and digitization championed by Dr. Bawumia. I support a leader who believes in and promotes technological advancement for the country’s benefit,” she added.
Abubakar highlighted Bawumia’s initiative to introduce drone delivery for healthcare to address the challenges of medical supply distribution in remote areas. She recalled the NDC women’s organizer’s claim that drones would be used to spy on women
bathing outside, criticizing it as an example of the NDC’s lack of forward-thinking.
“When we assumed office, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia recognized that healthcare was suffering due to distance issues, so he introduced drone delivery to ensure medications could reach remote areas quickly and efficiently. The NDC’s current women’s organizer suggested that these drones would be used to spy on women, which highlights the party’s lack of vision. The foresight to lead the people towards the future is clearly missing in the NDC,” she concluded.
