The Central Regional chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu, has warned that the party will not allow what happened in the just ended by-election at Kumawu to repeat itself at Assin North in the pending by-election.

Prof. Asiedu, said the NDC is ready to oppose sharing money to induce voters to vote for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a press conference address by the chairman at the regional party office today, Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu, the scheme by the government to embark on emergency projects prior to the Kumawu by-election and the sharing of money and food was only to influence voters to vote for them knowing well that they have failed Ghanaians and the people of Kumawu.

According to him, though the strategies by the government didn’t fully work at Kumawu, the NDC will not allow the same scheme to be used.

“Sharing of money on election day is against electoral rules and we will resist any attempt by the NPP to repeat the same,” he said.
