NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT OF ZONGO CHIEFS URGED ZONGO YOUTH TO STAY AWAY FROM ELECTION VIOLENCE

The National Vice President of the Council of Zongo Chiefs who double as the President of the Akyem Abuakwa and Eastern Regional Council of Zongo Chiefs, Sariki Alhaji Abubakar Omar, has cautioned the youth of the entire nation especially the Eastern Regional areas not to allow politicians to deceive them to foment trouble before, during and after the November 4 New Patriotic Party (NPP) national presidential delegates conference elections.

 

Sariki Alhaji Abubakar Omar said this in an exclusive interview

with the Daily Searchlight Newspaper Correspondent on phone.

 

He has therefore called on people living within Zongo communities especially the youth to eschew acts that will affect the peace of the country.

 

“This year the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential primaries and I urge all NPP people of Zongo to comport themselves in the very best manner that will ensure peaceful elections in the country”.

 

The chief also reminded Ghanaians that presidential election was not about fighting, but only an opportunity for people of the political parties to choose their leader, and this should not degenerate into chaos and anarchy to destabilize the country and compromise time-tested peaceful co-existence.

 

He also urged the youth in the Zongo communities and the electorates across the country to leave the polling stations after casting their votes so that they did not get themselves into trouble with the electoral officials.

“All religious groups must also continue to pray to ensure a peaceful election in November 4 NPP Presidential primaries.

 

Sariki Alhaji Abubakar Omar further explain that, at the last quarter of the Eastern Regional Council of Zongo Chiefs meeting destooled Alhaji Shisu Iddi who was the Amamerehene of the Council for disrespecting the Council oath.

 

Sariki Alhaji Abubakar stated again Alhaji Shisu Iddi don’t respect the entire Eastern Regional members of the Zongo Council of Chiefs and also warned all Muslims communities not recognize him as the Amamerehene again because he has been destooled.

 

He therefore urging corporate institution, all political parties and others institutions to come an celebrate the 35th Chieftaincy Anniversary together on 7th to 9th December of this year at Kibi Astroturf in the Eastern Region.
