As promised by former Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta, the Minority in Parliament has officially commissioned the National Cathedral. Despite budget plans indicating the completion date as March 6, 2024, the site remains empty with no structure erected, despite significant financial investments.
During a brief ceremony on Independence Day, the Minority symbolically commissioned the facility. However, they faced initial security obstacles as they were barred from entering due to the absence of the contractor on site and the holiday. Nonetheless, this did not deter them from carrying out their mission.
The government promised to commission the facility today, March 6th, but the project is still at the foundation level. Therefore, NDC MPs have performed a symbolic commissioning of the project. #JoyNews pic.twitter.com/ftUicXhT7R
