Frequently referred to as Hilda Baci, Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey has set her eyes on shattering the record for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual.”
She has beaten the previous record after cooking nonstop for an astounding 88 hours and 50 minutes.
Last Thursday, Baci started this amazing culinary voyage by lighting her cooker at 4:00 pm.
Since then, she has persisted and early on Monday morning broke the previous world record holder.
Baci will take over the highly regarded title from Lata Tondon, an Indian chef who completed an unbroken cooking marathon of 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019. This is subject to Guinness World Records confirmation.
