The New Patriotic Party (NPP) branch in Manhyia South have elected Lawyer Adjei Baffour Awuah as its parliamentary candidate.
He polled 376 votes of the votes on the day.
Brother of former Member of Parliament, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Owusu Afriyie Prempeh, who was eyeing the seat after his brother polled 141 votes.
James Owusu garnered 7 votes, while Akwasi Coker Gyambibi had 2 votes.
Before the elections, Lawyer Adjei Baffour Awuah was tipped to win the elections as constituents clamoured for him to be picked.
Prof. Smart Sarpong’s research tipped him to win 70% of the votes on the day.
The elections became necessary after Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh was selected as the running mate for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 election.
