In a powerful and captivating session on Movement TV’s show “Bawumia Hour” on Wednesday, 11th September 2024, Lawyer Charles Owusu Juanah, an esteemed international lawyer and staunch advocate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, took center stage. The episode was not just another political discourse; it was an educative and interactive platform where Lawyer Juanah delved into the history, policies, and promises of both the NPP and NDC governments, making a compelling case for the future leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia…

The show, hosted by Rev. Opoku Acheampong, National Organizer of Friends of Bawumia-08, began with a pivotal question: “Can you enlighten us on why you’re meeting TESCON members nationwide?”

Lawyer Juanah responded with clarity, stressing the importance of TESCON as an essential branch of the NPP. “TESCON members are energetic youths spread across every corner of Ghana, capable of reaching households in every community. When equipped with the right resources and information, these young individuals can drive the party’s success, delivering significant votes. I’ve met them, seen their energy, and realized the potential they hold for the NPP’s future.”

He further suggested a notable shift in the TESCON slogan from “Commitment without inducement” to “Commitment with inducement.” This adjustment, according to Lawyer Juanah, reflects the need for providing these young campaigners with the necessary tools to empower them for greater impact.

As the discussion unfolded, the host asked a critical question comparing the youth-oriented campaign promises of the two leading candidates, John Dramani Mahama and Dr. Bawumia. Lawyer Juanah didn’t hesitate to offer a contrast that left viewers with much to ponder.

“Dr. Bawumia’s campaign is a continuation of the remarkable progress he and President Nana Addo have made,” he began. Lawyer Juanah tackled criticisms about Dr. Bawumia’s promise to abolish the E-Levy, clarifying that it was set up for a purpose. He explained that by the time Dr. Bawumia assumes office, that purpose would have been fulfilled, making the tax unnecessary.

“The NDC, led by Mahama, has resorted to personal attacks, highlighting their lack of a credible campaign message. They offer promises that are either vague or rooted in the past failures of their administration. Their so-called ‘24-hour economy’ is nothing more than rhetoric. In contrast, Dr. Bawumia’s message is human-centered, focusing on educating the youth, creating jobs, and fostering national development,” Lawyer Juanah argued passionately.

His statements resonated deeply with viewers as he highlighted the transformative nature of Free SHS, which he credited for enlightening Ghanaians. “Thanks to Free SHS and digitization, led by Dr. Bawumia, Ghanaians are more informed and can no longer be deceived by propaganda and false promises from the NDC.”

As the host probed further, Lawyer Juanah made an important historical connection, comparing the current state of Ghana with the 2000s. He drew attention to how, under the NPP’s John Agyekum Kufuor, Ghana was lifted out of economic struggles and blessed with the discovery of oil, only for the NDC under Mills and Mahama to subject the country to power outages and economic mismanagement.

Lawyer Juanah’s conclusion was a powerful call to action: “Ghanaians have seen this cycle before. The NPP lays the foundation for progress, and the NDC comes in to tear it down. But not this time. With Dr. Bawumia at the helm, the takeoff is imminent. Ghanaians will not allow the NDC to bring us back to square one.”

He didn’t stop there. When asked about the fate of the youth if Ghana fails to take off, Lawyer Juanah presented a grim picture of the consequences, referring to the NDC’s past failures in human resource development. He made a compelling case that while the NPP has always invested in the people through policies like NHIS, Free SHS, and LEAP, the NDC prioritizes overpriced infrastructure that benefits only a few to enrich themselves.

The closing remarks were a rousing call for the youth to rise to the occasion and support Dr. Bawumia in the December 7th elections. “The future is bright under Bawumia. The youth are better off, empowered, and ready for the takeoff. The NPP is the future of this country, and Dr. Bawumia will take us there,” he concluded.

The show ended with viewers posing questions to the panel, all expertly handled, leaving the audience more informed and inspired than ever. It was a masterclass in political education and advocacy, one that showcased the depth of Lawyer Charles Owusu Juanah’s knowledge and passion for Ghana’s future under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
