The Assembly Member for Fententah Mantukwa electoral area in the Berekum West district of the Bono region, Hon. Kwaku Effah has admonished the government over what he described as negligence and failure to provide the Mantukwah Junior High School with infrastructure and other social amenities to enhance teaching and learning.
Speaking to Angel News, he noted that the school has been experiencing a water crisis for some time now with multiple complaints to the government but no response. He stressed that the situation has been compelling most students to fetch water from the house which subsequently prevents them from coming back during class hours adding that the situation keeps draining the population of the school.
He has therefore urged the government to as a matter of urgency provide the teachers with Masters’s Bungalow and fix the water problem to improve teaching and learning in the school.
On his part, Mr. Emmanuel Kwaku Effah, chairman of a pressure group known as Concern Citizens of Fetentah Mantukwa bemoaned how the school building poses danger to the lives of the learners and the teachers during class hours.
He indicated that the lack of school feeding programs is also retarding education and academic excellence hence the need for government to come to their aid as soon as possible to fast-track educational progress in the area.
Finally, one of the students shared their ordeal with newsmen and called for immediate action from the government and other stakeholders to prevent frustrations in the school during class hours because the nature of the school building always keeps off their concentration from teaching.
Kwaku Mensah Abrampa filed the report
