Campaign Tour of Former President John Dramani Mahama in Savannah Region Ends in an Accident, Leaving Three Injured

 

On Thursday, during the campaign tour of the Savannah Region with former President John Dramani Mahama, an accident occurred in Dartotili, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region. The victims of the accident included a TV3 Journalist, Christopher Amoako, the Savannah Regional Communications officer of the National Democratic Congress, R.A. Jelil, and one other person identified only as Samed.

 

The cause of the accident is currently unknown. The three individuals sustained various injuries and were rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for medical attention. The accident happened while the team was returning from the East and North-East Gonja Districts and heading towards Yapei and Daoboya in the Central and North Gonja Districts.

 

Photos showed former President John Dramani Mahama attending to Christopher Amoako of TV3, who was lying on the ground. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.
