Jose Mourinho made a harsh prediction that eliminated Arsenal from the Premier League title contest.

For the first time since their historic Invincibles campaign in 2004, the Gunners are very much a contender to win the Premier League.

Arsenal is not expected to win the Premier League, according to Jose Mourinho.

Mikel Arteta should motivate his squad by showing Mourinho’s forecast to them, according to Arsenal supporters.

The North Londoners are actually leading the standings, with five points ahead of Manchester City, who are fourth behind Aston Villa, and just one point separating them from second-placed Liverpool.

Mourinho, though, is certain that City and the Reds will compete for the crown in a two-horse race this season.

Furthermore, the Roma manager, who has three Premier League championships with Chelsea under his belt, is completely unconfident that Mikel Arteta’s team will win the title in May.

When asked what his title prediction was, Mourinho said to The Obi One podcast, “Man City 51 per cent and Liverpool 49 per cent [chance of winning the title].”

“No Arsenal?” the Portuguese head coach was questioned.

“Nah… It’s not the rivalry, is it the right moment?” Mourinho retorted.

“To be honest, I would want them to win, rivalries aside. Chelsea and Manchester United are obviously not going to win.

“I would be thrilled if Arsenal did it out of the three. I would be overjoyed if they broke the item.

“It’s because Man City has two teams when the cumulative of matches starts.”

However, Arsenal supporters are certain that their squad should take Mourinho’s dire forecast as motivation to win the championship.

Some Gooners even suggested that Arteta show his team that film, similar to how he showed them the video of Brentford star Ivan Toney making a “kick about” tweet.

A supporter wrote: “Arteta is going to play this video in the changing room like he use that Toney tweet.”

“We like it that way; underestimate us at your peril,” said another commenter.

“We will revisit this at the conclusion of the season,” penned a third.

“I will bookmark this and come back to it in May,” stated one of the fans.

Furthermore, that one said, “Arteta > Jose.”
