Black Stars forward, Inaki Williams, has been shortlisted for the La Liga Player of the Month for April.
This recognition comes after his outstanding performance in the month, where he scored four goals and helped his team to clinch three wins out of four matches, thus keeping their European dreams alive.
Williams’ remarkable run in April started with a goal against Osasuna, despite his team’s elimination from the Copa del Rey semifinals.
He continued with a crucial goal against Espanyol in La Liga and went on to score a brace against Real Sociedad, propelling his team to back-to-back wins after drawing their previous three games.
The competition for the award is stiff, with six other players contending for the prize. These include Marco Asensio, Ronald Araujo, Antoine Griezmann, Kang-In Lee, El-Neysiri, and Selim Amallah.
Williams has had a good season so far, scoring eight goals and providing two assists from 28 games in the ongoing La Liga season.
Athletic Bilbao is currently placed seventh with 46 points after 30 games in La Liga and will host Sevilla on Thursday at the Estadio San Mamés.
