Ghana Freedom Party’s Akua Donkor Files Nomination, Expresses Confidence in Electoral Commission
The leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor, has reaffirmed her unwavering confidence in the Electoral Commission (EC) under the leadership of Jean Mensah. Speaking at the EC Headquarters after filing her nomination to contest for the presidency in the 2024 general elections, she emphasized her trust in the Commission’s ability to conduct free and fair elections.
“I believe and trust in you that as you are at the helm of affairs, the Lord will protect you and ensure that everything comes to a successful end,” Akua Donkor stated, expressing her faith in the leadership of Jean Mensah.
Akua Donkor is among several aspirants who have officially submitted their nominations to contest the presidency. While addressing journalists, she recounted a minor delay in her journey to the Commission, citing poor road conditions along the Nsawam-Amasaman stretch. “I had to use my hazard lights to navigate through the traffic,” she explained.
Looking ahead, Akua Donkor assured journalists that, should she be elected as President, she would prioritize their welfare by providing them with cars and free fuel. This promise adds to her campaign narrative as she seeks the highest office in the land for the upcoming elections.
Akua Donkor’s nomination marks her continued participation in Ghana’s democratic process, maintaining her position as a political figure with unique and bold promises.
